The Torrance Unified School District does not subsidize any costs for the West High Entertainment Unit. This program is funded 100% by the student’s parents.

All donations we receive go toward upgrading our Entertainment Unit’s equipment; buying and/or repairing instruments, costumes and props; travel costs, and outstanding fees. Your generous support is vital to the success of our program and helping us create the best experience possible for our students.

There are many ways you can support our program.

Snap! Raise

We're kicking off our fundraising this year with Snap! Raise -- the nation's leading fundraising platform for groups, clubs and teams.

Annual South Bay Invitational Marching Band Field Show Tournament

One of our biggest and most anticipated fundraisers every year is the West High Entertainment Unit Marching Band Field Show Tournament. It is THE premier marching band competition in the South Bay where schools from all over Southern California travel to compete for the highest honor.

This year, our South Bay Invitational is scheduled for Saturday, September 28. Tickets will be on sale at our box office very soon -- please stay tuned!

Parents we need your support with coordinating this event. Please email Santiago Santana at to learn how you can help.

Annual Christmas Tree Fundraiser

Come and get your tree! Help the WHEU raise funds for our unit. Christmas trees will be on sale December 3 through December 22 and you'll be able to pre-order your tree -- stay tuned!

For more than 30 years the Entertainment Unit has been selling Christmas trees for a three week period on the corner of Del Amo and Victor. It is one of our three fundraisers and it goes a long way in keeping our contributions costs down and supplying the unit with its necessary funding. For 30 years this has been a successful endeavor as it has raised more than a quarter of a million dollars since its inception.

Another great way to donate to the Unit is through PayPal. All donations are greatly appreciated!

The West High Entertainment Unit Parent Association provides volunteer and financial support to the West High Entertainment Unit. The Parent Association is a 501(c)(3) under the portion of the US Internal Revenue Code that allows for federal tax exemption of nonprofit organizations. This means donations to the Parent Association may be tax-deductible. To maximize the impact of your donation, check with your employer to see if they have a matching gift program for tax-deductible donations! Also if you intend to use your donation as a personal tax deduction, we recommend you consult with a professional tax accountant.
